Rafael Nadal Blue Clay at 2012

Rafael Nadal shows his frustration on the blue clay court, which is going to be prepared for the next year’s Madrid Masters. Roger Federer and Serena Williams have also opposed blue clay courts at Madrid Masters, early in 2009.

The Mutua Madrid Open 2012 will be the first tournament in the history of tennis to be played on blue clay. The capital city of Spain will be the first country to host Masters Tennis tournament on a Blue Clay Court.

Although other colours of clay have been used in the past, red clay has become the most popular over the past few decades. It remains unclear whether the event will actually go with the change in the end.

Madrid is the last tournament where players can prepare for the French Open grand slam, Roland Garros.

Rafael Nadal is two-times champion at the Mutua Madrid Masters and this year, he has been defeated in finals against Novak Djokovic.

Madrid Masters is scheduled to be held form 4th to May 13th, 2012.

However, as some of the players are still opposing the event to he held on Blue Court, it could be tough task for the officials to go ahead and kickoff the event on beautiful Blue court.
